Super simple real-time map sharing.
@liveguidemaps
What happens when I share a map?
We create a link that others can use to watch the Liveguide map on your device. As you move or zoom the viewable area of your Liveguide Map, the Liveguide Map on the other person’s device is automatically moved or zoomed to match yours. This allows someone to follow along with your narration of the map in near realtime. This is especially helpful in the case of a Twitter space that is discussing events that are best explained with the use of a map as a visual aid but since the Twitter space is only in audio, no visual assistance is available.
Is my personal location shown on the other person’s map?
No, we do not ask for your location, nor do we display it on any map. The other party only sees the section of map you select in your phone. Your location is not rendered on any map by this app.
How do I set up my audience to watch my map?
Once you start sharing a map, press "Copy link”. A link to your map’s viewable area will be added to the clipboard. You can then paste the link in a message, tweet or post on social media. Viewers can tap that link to see your viewable map. If that link does not work, your audience can also simply install the app and enter the 5 character code to see your map.
How much does sharing or viewing a map cost?
Nothing. This app is free.
Are you collecting my data?
No. No data is collected.
If the app is free and you don’t want my data, why are you offering this?
Because we want to help those working hard to explain the conditions of Russia’s criminal genocidal invasion of Ukraine - and help tell the story of Ukraine’s valiant response.
